| THE ART OF HELPING |
| If you would like to lead somebody else in
a certain direction, you must first and foremost ensure that you find
him where he is, and start from there

What can a psychologist help me with? |

psychologist cannot remove your problems but can
facilitate that you become more aware of your own

in dealing with psychological issues concerning:
- Low self esteem
- Grief
- Anxiety and fear

- Eating disorders
- Sexuality
- Personal boundaries
- The relation to your own body
- Setting a limit
- Stress
- Identity problems

Psychologist or psychotherapist? |
|
The title "Psychologist" is protected
in Denmark, and it means that the person holding it
has a 5-year university training from either of
these universities: Copenhagen, Århus or Ålborg.
From the year 2010, it is now possible to aquire a
master's degree in psychology at the university of
Odense. The
title of "Psychotherapist" is not
protected, and thus everyone with or without
training can call himself a psychotherapist. However,
there are some schools which meet the standards
formulated by the Danish
Association of
Psychotherapists.
More legitimate to see a
psychologist
Recently,
it has become more legitimate to see a psychologist
than ever. Contacting a psychologist is not a
sign of weakness, or a sign of you being mad -
rather, it is a strong decision to take yourself
seriously. It is a sign of self-care, of wanting to
learn how to listen to your bodily signals without
shame.
